The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently announced China's most influential industrial calling cards in 2024. Changsha's two industries—construction machinery and Liuyang fireworks— were listed among them.

Industrial calling cards are the embodiment of a city's high-profile industrial image, a vital icon of industrial strength, and a specific symbol of economic influence and appeal. The MIIT Industrial Culture Development Center promoted the Regional (City) Industrial Calling Card Building Plan in 2022. Since then, a number of highly recognizable, influential, and competitive industrial calling cards have been fostered, becoming an important source of support for China's manufacturing strength.

Changsha, known as the "Capital of Construction Machinery", is home to five top 50 global construction machinery manufacturers. With a full range of products and full-chain services, Changsha is the world's third largest construction machinery industry cluster after Illinois, the USA and Tokyo, Japan. As the province's first 100-billion-yuan industry, Changsha's construction machinery industry achieved an output value of 220 billion CNY in 2023, constituting about 30% of the country's total and ranking first nationwide for 14 consecutive years.

Since 2023, Liuyang has elevated the fireworks industry to the level of "meeting the new needs of a better life" and "new cultural consumption experience". This county-level city has participated in over 3,000 fireworks display activities at home and abroad, accounting for more than 90% of the market share. Liuyang boasts 431 fireworks enterprises, with the annual output value exceeding 50 billion CNY. Its domestic sales and exports of fireworks accounted for 60% and 70% of the country's total, respectively, creating more than 300,000 jobs.
